Strength is learned... quickly

When you think you can’t do something, ask yourself 'have i ever been properly taught how?'.

That includes strength.

Sure, strength involves muscle size and condition… but it is also a set of skills that can be learned… quickly.

These clips are Craig’s 1st and 2nd time doing this move.

Night vs day difference.

Chaos vs control.

In the case of this move (Shrimp Squat) - where the objective is to get the back knee (but not the back foot) to the floor - some of the usual issues are:

-balance: achieved with correct foot positioning and tension

-ankle mobility: improved with warm ups, mobilisation, regressions (eg elevating the heel)

Both are out of the scope of this post but can be taught quickly. Comment below if you'd like to see more on those topics.

Craig is in his 3rd week of training now and is making huge progress.
